Idleez Instructions

Read the safety instructions and operating manual prior to use.

Pour cold water into water reservoir to max level for foods requiring 25 to 60 minutes steaming time or minimum level for foods requiring less than 20 minutes. Add extra water if the steam stops or if the amount of steam is reduced.

  • Do not add salt, pepper, or other seasonings to the water reservoir.
  • Place drip tray in base and make sure it fits right.
  • Place the steamer bowl and position it on the base.
  • Wash the Marrlite™ coated Idli plates with soap and water prior to use.
  • For best results, apply a thin coating of oil prior to adding the dough for the first time.
  • Add the dough to the bottom plate first. Do not overfill the cavities.
  • Add the dough to remaining plates and stack them.
  • Lift the three-plate set with center stem and place it inside the bottom steamer bowl.
  • Place the two-plate set in the upper steamer bowl.
  • Place the upper bowl over the lower bowl. Make sure they fit properly.
  • Close the upper bowl with lid. Plug into wall outlet. Set timer to 20 minutes.
  • When the timer reaches zero, it will automatically shut the unit off.
  • Unplug the unit and wait for a minute before opening the lid.
  • Remove the idli plate set and separate the plates.
  • Use a plastic spoon or spatula to remove the idlies.
  • Wash the idli plates immediately after use. Wipe the steamer clean.
  • Do not wash the steamer or idli plates in the dishwasher.
  • If you want to cook rice, put rice in the rice bowl, and add required amount of water.
  • Place the rice bowl in the bottom steamer bowl. Close the lid.
  • Set the timer for 40 minutes.

If you want to steam vegetables, follow the same instructions as for rice.
